Quizlet is a free website providing learning tools for students, including flashcards, study and game modes. It was created by high school sophomore  Andrew Sutherland in 2005 and now contains over 400 million study sets. All of the material is user-generated.

The Quizlet Story: Quizlet was founded in 2005 by 15-year-old Andrew Sutherland for a high-school French class. He wanted an easy-to-use tool for learning vocabulary. He built Quizlet for himself, shared it with his friends, and it grew from there.

1.  Flashcards:  Flip through and familiarize yourself with the material.

2.  Learn:  Track your progress and review the things you got wrong.

3.  Scatter:  Match words to their definitions and try to finish faster than your friends.

4.  Speller:  Type what you hear. Works in 18 different languages.

5.  Test:  Prepare for the actual test with an automatically graded quiz.

6.  Space Race:  Earn points by typing in words before their definitions vanish off screen.
