Mental Health Clinician
 
As a Mental Health Clinician for the school district, I support students’ emotional, social, and behavioral well-being so they can be successful at school and beyond. I provide individual counseling, crisis support, and mental health assessments, and I collaborate closely with families, teachers, and school staff. I also help connect students and families to community resources and work to promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment.
Some of the things I do:
  • Provide individual counseling for students

  • Support students’ emotional, social, and behavioral well-being

  • Conduct mental health screenings and assessments as appropriate

  • Provide crisis intervention and short-term mental health support

  • Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and school staff

  • Consult with staff regarding student mental health and behavioral concerns

  • Assist in developing behavior and mental health intervention plans

  • Teach and reinforce coping skills and emotional regulation strategies

  • Promote social-emotional learning and a positive school climate

  • Participate in student support meetings (SST, IEP, 504, etc.)

  • Connect students and families with community mental health resources

  • Maintain documentation in accordance with confidentiality and ethical guidelines

  • Support school-wide and individual crisis response efforts
