I'm Tara Hooks, and I'm honored to work with you as a school counselor here at Ripon High and Harvest High. I primarily work with students whose last names fall between A-F, and I'm committed to supporting every student in this group through their academic, social-emotional, and postsecondary success. I believe in the power of genuine relationships and meaningful support. My commitment to your success is grounded in three core values; academic excellence- helping you navigate course selection, monitor progress, and meet graduation requirements. Social-Emotional growth - creating a safe, welcoming space where you feel seen, valued and supported. Postsecondary success- guiding you through college and career exploration so you're prepared for your future.

 

As a counselor at Ripon High School, I manage several key initiatives that support our student's success: Harvest High Transfers-ensuring smooth transitions and continued support for students and their families, our RHS CTA Career Fair-planning and coordinating this bi-annual career exploration event, College outreach- facilitating partnerships with CSU and UC representatives to visit our students on campus, Counseling Communications-publishing monthly counseling corner newsletters with resources and updates, Annual Planning document-coordinating our annual calendar handout and updating it with key program events throughout the school year. 

 

Whether you're selecting courses, working toward graduation, exploring college and career pathways, or navigating challenges, I'm committed to helping you succeed.
