MJC Dual Enrollment

RHS is proud to partner with Modesto Junior College (MJC) to offer Dual Enrollment opportunities, allowing students to earn college credit while completing their high school requirements.

Currently, Juniors have the opportunity to enroll in our Dual Enrollment US History (DEUSH) course. This consists of two college-level courses taken directly on the RHS campus:

Fall Semester: MJC History 101
Spring Semester: MJC History 102

Benefits of Dual Enrollment: Upon successful completion of these courses, students earn 3 units of college credit per course (6 units total). Passing these classes allows students to officially begin their MJC transcript, providing a head start on their higher education journey.

MJC representatives collaborate closely with RHS counselors to guide students through the enrollment process during a campus visit. We assist students with every stage of matriculation, including:

Application: Applying to MJC (student will need to know their SSN)
Authorization: Completing the Special Petition Form.
Registration: Officially enrolling in the specific course sections.

For students unable to attend the MJC campus visit: Please refer to the resources below to complete the process independently. It is important to follow the links and complete the steps in the order listed to ensure your registration is processed correctly.

STUDENTS (Submitter)

You will begin the Special Petition Form.
Enter your full name and your personal email address.
Enter your parent/guardian's full name and their personal email address in the parent fields — double-check for typos.
Carefully read each question and answer accurately. Pay close attention when entering your MJC "W" number and MJC email, as mistakes with these fields may prevent your form from processing correctly.
Click Submit. The form will then route to the parent email you listed at the start.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS

You will receive an email from Droplet with a clickable link to review and sign the form. (If you don't see it, check your spam/junk folder.)
Click the link, review the information submitted by your student, complete the electronic signature, and click the Submit button.
After you sign, the form will automatically route to the school counselor for review and approval. The counselor will then forward it to MJC via email and cc the student.

Quick Troubleshooting & Tips

Always verify the parent's email before submitting to avoid delays.
If you do not receive the link: check spam/junk or confirm that the correct email was entered.

STEP THREE: Register for Class through MyMJC.edu

The final step is registering for the specific MJC course section designated for Ripon High School. Students will need to login into their MyMJC account to be able to add the class. Please note that a unique 4-digit section number is assigned to each class period. If your student missed the on-campus MJC support session, they must contact their counselor to obtain the correct code for their specific period.

By navigating university coursework now, students develop critical time management and self-advocacy skills early. This "head start" not only strengthens their college applications but also ensures they are better prepared for the independence required in higher education.
